As mentioned, Vietnam have returned after a five-year abscence, releasing an A.merican D.ream, last week via Mexican Summer. The band played a record release show on Thursday (2/28) with Hector’s Pets and TV Baby also on the bill. (There was an afterparty down the street at the soon-to-close Motor City where Jonathan Toubin DJ’d obscure punk.) More pics from that night are in this post.
Michael Gerner and the rest of his band are heading to SXSW next week and will stay on the road for much of the spring. Vietnam has added a homecoming show in Brooklyn at Glasslands on May 18. Tickets for that show are on sale now and updated tour dates are listed below.
