Vince Staples wants to win electronic album Grammy, expands tour with Tyler the Creator
Tyler the Creator is on tour now in support of this year’s Flower Boy, having played NYC’s Terminal 5 and NJ’s Starland Ballroom last week. He’ll go on a co-headlining tour with Vince Staples in 2018, which already included one NYC show on February 23 at the Theatre at MSG and now also includes a second show (2/24) the next night at the same venue. Vince Staples released his album Big Fish Theory this year, and he talked to NPR about how it should win a Grammy, but not for Best Rap Album. “I should win electronic album of the year based on my production, alone. But it can’t be that because I’m rapping on it — which makes no sense because I’m better than everything right here,” he said. He did add that he should be nominated for Best Rap Album, as well as Best Alternative Album and Album of the Year.
