Vinyl Williams

LA dreampop artist Vinyl Williams released Leminscate last year, a lysergic journey down the astral plane that falls just slightly to the rock side of what Toro Y Moi is doing. If you haven’t checked it out yet, the whole thing is streamable via Spotify. He also just released a cover of “Walking In Space” which showtune afficianados will know is from free love musical Hair. As his sound is already in that real, it’s not too different from the original but Vinyl Williams definitely puts his on spin on it. We’ve got the premiere of that cover below.

As mentioned, Vinyl Williams will be heading out on tour with Mount Kimbie and Holy Other, which kicks off in NYC at Bowery Ballroom on May 30 (tickets). The day before (5/29), Vinyl Williams headlines Glasslands. Lushes and Images are also on the bill and tickets for that show are on sale now.

Vinyl Willimas has also created a special interactive tour flyer for his upcoming dates, that allow you to explore their itinerary via a Myst-style game. For those bad at Myst-style games, there’s a video walkthrough, along with an old-fashioned list of dates, below.
