Vivian Girls are back, new LP ‘Memory’ and tour this fall (listen to “Sick”)
Vivian Girls broke up in 2014, playing farewell shows at Baby's All Right, and Death by Audio. Now, five years later, Cassie Ramone, Katy Goodman and Ali Koehler (who all live in L.A. now) have reformed Vivian Girls and will release their first new album in eight years, Memory, on September 20 via Polyvinyl. The first single is "Sick" and is a pretty terrific bit of shoegazy pop with those trademark harmonies in fine form. Listen to that below.
The band will also be touring this fall, including dates in L.A., NYC, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Chicago and more. The NYC show happens October 17 at Warsaw. All dates are are on presale now via their site (password: memory), and listed below.
Polyvinyl will also reissue the band's first two albums, Vivian Girls (2008) and Everything Goes Wrong (2009). They were originally released on In The Red and have been out of print for years. These reissues will be the first time they're available on 180-gram vinyl.
