Cult musician Von LMO (real name Frank Cavallo) was to have played Market Hotel this Friday (10/12) but was struck by a motorist, which shattered his pelvis. He will face multiple surgeries and extensive rehabilitation to walk again. The Market Hotel show is now a benefit for Von LMO and a celebration of his music, featuring sets by Martin Rev of Suicide, fellow downtown New York icons James Chance & The Contortions, plus Ed Schrader's Music Beat, and Toned. Tickets are on sale.

If you'd like to know more about Von LMO, there's a documentary about him, titled FUTURE LANGUAGE: The Dimensions of VON LMO, that is making the rounds (NYC's Anthology Film Archives showed in September) and you can watch the trailer for that, and listen to Von LMO's 1981 debut LP, Future Language, below.
