As you may know, Brooklyn DIY venue Emet is likely shutting down but the people behind the venue have teamed up with Showpaper for an "Emet in Exile" show at Trans-Pecos tonight (5/23). The show, which doubles as a Showpaper benefit, features The Gradients (who also play next week with What Moon Things), Vows, Sunflower Bean, Onwe and Somewhere. $7-$20 suggested at the door. Meanwhile, electro-goth duo Vows just played a live set for WFMU earlier this week (5/22) on a show with a genre-appropriate playlist of tracks by Sisters of Mecy, Bauhaus, Christian Death, Cocteau Twins, Siouxsie and the Banshees and more by DJ Nanase Hikaru.
