Warren Haynes leading Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration on tour, adds more Cap shows with Phil Lesh

Gov’t Mule leader, former Allman Brothers member and Dead Family associate Warren Haynes will once again lead the Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration on a tour this summer. The tour has him teaming up with local orchestras and other musicians in each city, to re-interpret Jerry’s originals and trademark covers.

Warren hits NYC on August 8 at Central Park SummerStage, but no word yet on who’s joining him for that show. The tour also hits Bethel Woods on 8/6, NJ’s PNC Bank Arts Center on 8/7, and more. Tickets for Central Park go on sale Friday (3/11) at 10 AM with promo tickets going on sale Thursday (3/10) at 10 AM. There’s also an artist presale underway now. All dates are listed below. Details on who joins Warren in each city are here.

In very related news, Warren will also join the Dead’s Phil Lesh for Phil & Friends shows Memorial Day Weekend at Port Chester, NY’s Capitol Theatre on May 28 & 29. Those shows also have Melvin Seals, Eric Krasno and Tony Leone joining. Tickets go on sale Friday at noon. Warren is also playing Phil’s three “The Q” shows at the Cap this month, which are all sold out.

In other Dead news, the upcoming Grateful Dead documentary that Martin Scorsese is involved in will be discussed during a panel at the Asbury Park Music In Film Festival which returns this year from April 8-10. They aren’t showing any footage of the film, but producers Eric Eisner and Justin Kreutzmann (Bill’s son) are expected to appear. Tickets are on sale.
