watch Ben Gibbard cover Decemberists on his solo acoustic livestream

Night three of Ben Gibbard‘s daily solo acoustic livestreams is a wrap, and like on night one (Radiohead) and night two (Joy Division/New Order), Ben did a very cool cover. This time he did one by his longtime friends/collaborators The Decemberists, “Grace Cathedral Hill.” After playing the song, Ben said, “Colin if you’re out there, I absolutely fucking love that song,” and he mentioned that he may have lifted the idea to put a line about a motorbike in “Brothers on a Hotel Bed” (which he also played tonight) from the motorbike line in “Grace Cathedral Hill.”

Ben also did a bunch of Death Cab songs tonight, including an especially gorgeous piano version of “Soul Meets Body.” Watch his full set and see the setlist below.
