Bill Callahan‘s tour in support of his first album in six years — the 20-song double album Shepherd In A Sheepskin Vest — hit NYC’s Webster Hall on Thursday (8/22). In addition to his deep well of originals, Callahan paid tribute to his friend and labelmate David Berman, who died earlier this month, by covering two Silver Jews songs. As Stereogum notes, Bill played “Trains Across The Sea,” (from 1994’s Starlite Walker) and “I Remember Me” (from 2001’s Bright Flight). “Time to cry,” Bill said, introing “I Remember Me,” and adding, “with David gone, everything’s different.”
