It’s Halloween week, and that means Misfits covers. And one of the bands to break one out at a recent show was blink-182, who are in the midst of their Enema of the State 20th anniversary tour. They played during the encore of their set at KROQ’s 2019 Halloween Costume Ball at LA’s Fonda Theatre on Saturday (10/26), a show which also saw all three members of the band dressed as the Joker. blink, who also covered Hybrid Moments back when Tom DeLonge was in the band, did “Skulls” this time, and lead vocals were handled by Tom’s replacement Matt Skiba (whose band Alkaline Trio released a Misfits covers 7″ in 2002 and opened for the reunited Misfits in LA and Vegas in 2017). They stuck to doing a straightforward version, and sounded great doing it. It’s no surprise that Matt can handle Danzig’s vocals like a pro, and it’s always fun to hear Travis Barker drum on a real-deal punk song like this. Watch them perform the cover below.

Meanwhile, the actual Misfits played Madison Square Garden a week earlier, and before the year ends, they’ll play Philly.
