Stoner rock vet Brant Bjork (ex-Kyuss and Fu Manchu) released his new solo album Mankind Woman last week on Heavy Psych Sounds (order yours) and we're now premiering the video for opening track "Chocolatize." The video begins with Brant talking to the camera about finally getting the test pressing for the new album. He hits play, starts playing guitar along with the song's "Hand of Doom"-indebted riff, and then picks up his drumsticks and heads to the practice space, and that's when the video properly begins. It's got Brant, Brant, and Brant playing guitar, bass, and drums, and some of the lyrics pop up via a series of Brant's trucker hats. Jeff Edwards (who produced, shot, and edited the video) adds in some psychedelic visuals for good measure. Here's what Brant tells us about it:

"Chocolatize" is about solidifying your "thing", your "trip", and finding your tribe through osmosis. The video concept was the vision of my manager, Doctor Jones, and myself. We borrowed Bob Dylan's "Subterranean Homesick Blues" cue card concept and exchanged it with my longtime habit of writing words on the blank, white front of my trucker hats. This was then mixed with a psychedelic, stoney version of the Youtube "show & tell" trend. Mix ingredients and stir well.
