Pink Floyd's David Gilmour and his family have been hosting weekly "Von Trapped Family" livestreams since COVID-19 lockdown which include conversation and a few songs. This week, David covers two solo songs by his onetime Pink Floyd bandmate, the late Syd Barrett. First he performs Syd's classic 1969 single "Octopus," and then later in the livestream he covers "Dominoes" which was from Syd's second and final solo album, Barrett. "Octopus" starts at 17:35 and "Dominoes" starts at 32:50. Watch below.

In addition to playing those two songs, Gilmour also talks about working on Syd's solo records (he played drums on "Dominoes") and shares stories about Syd too. All of this stemmed from proofreading a forthcoming book of Barrett lyrics.

In other Pink Floyd news, the #PinkFloydFridays live concert streams series on YouTube wraps up today with David Gilmour Live At Pompeii and you can watch that here.

Also: massive Syd Barrett fan Robyn Hitchcock is doing a livestream performance of Barrett today on StageIt at 3 PM Eastern. Says Robyn: “Ever the innovator, Syd Barrett was social distancing before it was cool. Join me this Friday May 8 for a special Syd version of Live From Sweet Home Quarantine based on his second and last LP Barrett. Requests welcome.”
