Har Mar Superstar

watch Har Mar Superstar sing the National Anthem at the Twins' Opening Day game

The Minnesota Twins played their first home game of the season yesterday (and they beat the Cleveland Indians 2-0), and on hand to sing the National Anthem at Opening Day was none other than Minnesota native Har Mar Superstar! Earlier in the day, Har Mar (aka Sean Tillman) posted a video announcing that he’d be singing, and afterwards he tweeted, “Time to review my play. I’m sure you can see me intensely trying to remember the words and time it to 2 F16s flying over. Had a blast! Thanks, @twins & Minnesota!” He later added, “I’m super grateful to @Twins for having me today. It was an amazing day. Plus, WE WON! Dusting off my Homer Hanky already.”

Har Mar is also promising to post video of it, but meanwhile a fan-shot video has already surfaced. You can check it out, along with a few more pictures and Har Mar’s announcement video, below.

And as you may have guessed, the performance also left a few people wondering just who the hell this Har Mar Superstar guy is…

Unfortunately, it was a bittersweet night for Har Mar and for Minnesota in general, as right around the same time Har Mar was singing, the news broke that his friend, MN club booker, tour manager and sound tech Trevor Engelbrektson, had died in a van accident in Arizona while out on the road with UK band Her’s.
