We're still reeling from the truly excellent album release show that Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires livestreamed from Brooklyn Bowl Nashville last night (5/15) to celebrate the also-excellent new Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit album, Reunions, so we started looking up some other recent Jason Isbell videos and just realized there's some pretty great footage of the very last show that Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit played before lockdown began, Innings Festival.

The acoustic guitar/violin duo setup of last night's show was great, but if you were wondering what a song like "Overseas" sounds like live with the screaming guitar lick that it's got on the record, you're in luck because the 400 Unit did a fiery rendition of that song at Innings Fest, which is especially cool to see now that the new record is out and starting to settle in. (They also made the live debut of "Be Afraid" at that show, but unfortunately we haven't been able to find video of that one.) The 400 Unit sounded great playing their selection of earlier faves too ("24 Frames," "Cover Me Up," "If We Were Vampires," "Last of My Kind," and more), and they ended their set with an earth-shaking cover of the Fleetwood Mac classic "Oh Well," which they had broken out on tour a handful of times over the past year. Hearing Jason and Sadler Vaden shred those solos is a real treat.

"Overseas" had actually been part of Jason's setlists since last year, and he also did a gorgeous acoustic version of it at The Forum in Harrisburg, PA late last year. It's a little different than the way he played it last night, and definitely different than the album version, and it's very cool to hear this variation now that the album version is out. Check out that video, and videos from Innings Festival, below.
