The 43rd season premiere of Saturday Night Live aired on September 30 with host Ryan Gosling and Jay-Z was the musical guest. Wearing a Colin Kaepernick jersey Jay-Z performed “BAM” (wearing Colin Kaepernick jersey) with Damien Marley, and then for his second song he performed the title track to 4:44. Alec Baldwin, who won an Emmy this year for his many SNL appearances as Donald Trump, was also back for the season premiere, in the show’s cold-open. Watch that and a few other sketches (like the very funny “Levi’s Woke” commenrcial) below.
Next week (10/7) it’s Gal Gadot (star of Wonder Woman) and musical guest Sam Smith, and the 10/14 edition of SNL is hosted by Kumail Nanjiani and Pink is the musical guest.
Jay-Z’s next public appearance in NYC is part of the big hurricane relief benefit at Barclays Center on October 17 with Cardi B, A$AP Ferg, Joey Bada$$, Vic Mensa, and more.
