David Lynch and Kyle “Kale” MacLachlan on set of new ‘Twin Peaks.’

Today (October 18) is a good day for fans of David Lynch and Mark Frost‘s series Twin Peaks. Showtime has just released a new featurette where the show’s principle cast talk about returning to the series, including Kyle MacLachlan (Agent Cooper), Dana Ashbrook (Bobby Briggs), James Marshall (James), Harry Goaz (Andy), Kimmy Robertson (Lucy) and more, plus a few of the new cast members (Jim Belushi, Chrysta Bell). You can watch that below.

Showtime has yet to announce when the new series — which will consist of 18 episodes, all directed by Lynch — will air, but one of its European networks, Sky Atlantic Italy has said “Coming May 2017” and chances are its premiere is global. Stay tuned.

Meanwhile, Mark Frost’s new novel, The Secret History of Twin Peaks was released today, and tells the story of what happened in the town after the events of the series. It takes the form of an FBI dossier, filled with pictures, diary entries, notes and more. The audiobook version features voicework from castmembers MacLachlan, Russ Tamblyn, Michael Horse, Chris Mulkey, and David Patrick Kelly though not necessarily in character. You can listen to the first five minutes, featuring MacLachlan reading memos from Gordon Cole (played in the show by Lynch himself), below.

As mentioned, Mark Frost will be in NYC on Thursday, October 20 at Barnes & Noble Union Square for a reading, Q&A and signing. That’s at 7 PM and is free.
