Nada Surf's winter tour hit Boston's The Sinclair on Saturday night and at it, the band paid tribute to hometown hero Ric Ocasek -- who produced Nada Surf's 1996 debut album and died in September -- by covering The Cars' classic "Just What I Needed." It's a great, faithful version, with Doug Gillard really nailing those leads. Boston blog Bradley's Almanac shot video of it and you can watch below.

They also covered "Just What I Needed" the night before at Brooklyn's Music Hall of Williamsburg and Nada Surf will be back in NYC tonight for a little Super Bowl counterprogramming at Bowery Ballroom -- tickets are still available. You can check out their MHOW setlist
