As promised, surviving Nirvana members Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear reunited once again for The Art of Elysium’s annual Heaven gala benefit at The Palladium in Los Angeles on Saturday (1/4). They were once again joined on guest vocals by St. Vincent (who played with them at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony and then at Saint Vitus in 2014), plus Beck and Grohl’s 13-year-old daughter Violet. They did “Lithium” with St. Vincent (which she also did with them in 2014) on lead; “In Bloom,” “Been A Son,” and the Nirvana version of Bowie’s “The Man Who Sold the World” with Beck on lead; and “Heart Shaped Box” with Violet on lead. Going by fan-shot video, the whole set sounded pretty great, and it’s always nice to see Dave Grohl behind the drums again. Watch for yourself below…
