watch Oakland post-punks The World’s new “Namaste” video (debut LP out now)

Oakland, CA’s The World release their terrific debut album, First World Record, today via Upset the Rhythm. If you dig danceable, skronky post-punk (Delta 5, Kleenex, Bush Tetras) with a sarcastic, situationist lyrical bent, The World bring real energy, anger and pizazz to it. We’ve got the premiere of the video for “Namaste” which features a variety of crustaceans, choreography and, of course, yoga. You can watch that, and check out two other songs from the album, below.

If you’re in the UK/EU, you can listen to the whole The World album via Spotify (no North American release yet) and catch them on tour.
