Phoebe Bridgers, Julien Baker, and Lucy Dacus release their anticipated collaborative EP as boygenius on November 9 via Matador. The trio are also going on tour together, and while it isn't exactly a boygenius tour - Phoebe, Julien, and Lucy will each play their own sets - we're told, "you never know what surprises might arise." Julien and Phoebe have toured together and performed together multiple times - including earlier this summer at Winnipeg Folk Festival and Eaux Claires. More recently, Lucy joined Phoebe at The Grove in Thekla, Bristol on August 20 to perform one of the songs from the new EP, "Me and My Dog." Watch video of that below.

Phoebe has done some other noteworthy collaborations along with this new one with Julien and Lucy. She brought Conor Oberst along with her on tour to join her on "Would You Rather," their duet from Phoebe's excellent debut album, Stranger in the Alps. She also covered Mark Kozelek's "You Missed My Heart" on that album, and she sang on another of Mark song's with him in person at a San Francisco show at Bottom of the Hill earlier this year. Watch them perform "I Can't Live Without My Mother's Love" below. In her tour diary for NPR about the show, Phoebe wrote:

Mark Kozelek got onstage with us and called me out about mispronouncing his name. Red House Painters played the first-ever show at Bottom of the Hill, which he said made him feel old, and he told us that someday we too will get a letter in the mail telling us that we have to get a colonoscopy. Some guy shouted out "Grace Cathedral Park!" and he crouched on the ground and screamed "F*** YOU." Then we sang "I Can't Live Without My Mother's Love" and "You Missed My Heart."

Phoebe also interviewed Mark about his self-titled album. "I wish you a long and successful career in music," Mark told Phoebe near the end of of their talk. "You made a wonderful debut album and I look forward to your next one! Your cover of me and Jimmy’s song really moved me."

Mark just released a new Sun Kil Moon song, "Linda Blair," and has a new Sun Kil Moon album coming out November 1 and a new collaborative album with Donny McCaslin and Dirty Three’s Jim White in March, 2019. He's also going on a solo tour this fall.
