watch PUP bring out Jeff Rosenstock in NYC, cover The Weakerthans

PUP have been on tour since the spring supporting their best album yet, 2019’s Morbid Stuff. The fall leg of that tour has included dates at some of the biggest venues they’ve played yet, including NYC’s Terminal 5, where they stopped last night for a show with AJJ and Illuminati Hotties. The high-energy crowd sang along, danced, and moshed their way through evening, to a setlist (which you can see below) split fairly evenly between PUP’s three albums.

The night also included a couple of surprises. PUP brought out collaborator, previous tourmate, and hometown hero Jeff Rosenstock for a cover of his song “Hey Allison!” Watch video of that below. Afterwards, they sang him a (slightly belated) Happy Birthday.

PUP also treated the Terminal 5 crowd to a cover of The Weakerthans’ beloved song “Plea From a Cat Named Virtute.” Unfortunately we don’t have video of that taken in NYC, but they’ve covered the song a few times before, too; watch a version of it taken earlier this year in Toronto below.
