Junun Screening - Jonny Greenwood

Jonny Greenwood, Paul Thomas Anderson & Nigel Godrich walked into a NY theater

Jonny Greenwood is opening for himself on Radiohead’s current North American tour, as part of his side project Junun. Ahead of Radiohead’s four-night run at NYC’s Madison Square Garden, Junun stopped at Brooklyn’s Alamo Drafthouse on Monday (7/9) night for a screening event of Paul Thomas Anderson‘s 2015 documentary about the project. The screening was followed by a Q&A with Jonny, Shye Ben Tzur, members of The Rajasthan Express, and a couple of surprise guests: PTA himself and Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, who also recorded, mixed, and engineered the 2015 album the documentary is based on. During the Q&A, which you can watch in full below, Paul and Johnny are asked if a PTA-directed Radiohead documentary could happen. Neither would commit to an answer (watch for yourself around 32:30), but great question from the moderator!

A Junun performance followed the Q&A, and you can watch a few video clips of that below. The Alamo Drafthouse event happened on the same night as Junun performed on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and you can watch that below as well.
