French duo The Limiñanas are getting ready to release a new album in early 2018. Details are scant but the first single is “Shadow People,” which features vocals from French actress Emmanuelle Seigner (The Diving Bell & The Butterfly). We’ve got the premiere of the music video which also features Seigner, who told us a little about it:

The Limiñanas asked me to send them some filmed images of myself, with a precise direction in mind, they wanted something warm and will a lot of brightness. I asked Gil Lesage who is a great photographer but also an excellent filmmaker, to do it. We filmed these sequences without any help nor team, only with a small camera, just the two of us.

Like the song itself, the “Shadow People” video exudes classic French cool. (Think Serge Gainsbourg’s duets with Jane Birkin by way of The Velvet Underground.) Watch that above.

The Limiñanas released the Istanbul is Sleepy EP earlier this year which featured Anton Newcombe of The Brian Jonestown Massacre.
