Trade Wind are releasing their sophomore album Certain Freedoms on April 26 via Other People (pre-order) in the US and End Hits Records in the UK/EU, and we're premiering the new single "I Can't Believe You're Gone," along with its video. Trade Wind share members with hardcore bands Stick To Your Guns and Stray From The Path, but they've got a much softer, more atmospheric sound than those bands. We compared their previous single "No King But Me" to stuff like Jimmy Eat World's Clarity and The Appleseed Cast, and new single "I Can't Believe You're Gone" kinda reminds me of a more post-rock version of As Tall As Lions. Regarding the video, vocalist/guitarist Jesse Barnett explains, "The idea behind the video was to show the perspective of what it can be like to date a musician or specifically someone like me whose music and work overlap and are very time consuming—especially with so much required travel. It’s about the challenges of making a relationship work and being mindful of your partner even when you’re balancing a lot of things at once. We decided to have the video play out in reverse because I often find myself thinking, 'I wish I could go back the the beginning and do it differently.'" They do a great job of getting that message across in the video; it's one of those videos where you'd be invested in the storyline even if there wasn't a song accompanying it. Check it out below.

Trade Wind are also touring, including a Brooklyn show on May 31 at Knitting Factory with Only Sibling (tickets). All dates are listed below.
