Ty Segall played 'Seth Meyers,' announces new EP (watch/listen)
Ty Segall and The Freedom Band made a pinpoint strike on NYC Wednesday (2/8), bringing SoCal weather with them to play Late Night with Seth Meyers (and clown around the SNL set), and managing to escape just before the winter storm we’re currently enduring. They stopped by Late Night to play “Break a Guitar,” the opening cut from Ty’s new album.
Staying busy as ever, Ty also just announced he’s releasing a new 7″ on March 17 via Suicide Squeeze. Calling it The Emotional Goblin EP, it’s limited to 1000 vinyl copies. (Preorder.) You can listen to the hooky “Pan” right now (via Stereogum).
He and the band have a few West Coast dates in February and March, and then will launch their proper North American tour in the Spring, where they’ll play three nights at Brooklyn’s Warsaw in May. Updated dates are listed below.
