watch Wire's NPR Tiny Desk Concert

Wire were on tour in the U.S. when the coronavirus pandemic hit, and their shows at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg were the last shows they played. Right before they arrived, they were in Philadelphia and while there taped a NPR “Tiny Desk Concert.” That has now been shared and you can watch the punk/post-punk icons play “Cactused” and “Be Like Them” from this year’s Mind Hive, plus Chairs Missing classic “French Film Blurred” and “The Offer” (from It’s Beginning to And Back Again) over at NPR.

Meanwhile, Wire have another album in the hopper, titled 10:20, which was originally supposed to be a Record Store Day 2020 exclusive but it now getting a wide release on June 19. The album offers up new studio recordings of older songs, many in radically new forms. You can stream two tracks from it below.

If you need more: watch Wire play German television series Rockpalast back in 1980 here and you can check out pictures from Wire’s 2017 run at Baby’s All Right below.
