Waxhatchee

Waxhatchee (aka Katie Crutchfield) recently put out a teaser for her third LP and first for Merge, and she's now revealed more details. The album's called Ivy Tripp, and it will be out on April 7 via her new label home. It was produced and recorded with Swearin' members Kyle Gilbride and Keith Spencer. That's the album artwork above.

Katie also put out the album's first single "Air." I liked her last album a lot, but this immediately sounds better to me than everything on it. This is terrifically crafted indie rock with way bigger ambitions that it seemed like Katie had on her home-recorded debut, and she achieves those ambitions in a way that feels pretty effortless. Check it out below.

Waxahatchee also announced an extensive 2015 tour, which will have her joined once again by Keith Spencer as well as her twin sister Allison, also of Swearin'. Bassist Katherine Simonetti and drummer Ashley Arnwine complete the lineup.

That tour includes several dates with The Goodbye Party (who recently played Glasslands with Waxhatchee), and others with Girlpool (who, like Waxahatchee, recently toured with Jenny Lewis). Two of the dates include all three bands, including Philly and the Brooklyn show happening April 9 at Music Hall of Williamsburg. Tickets for that show go on sale at noon on Friday (1/16) with an AmEx presale starting at noon on Wednesday (1/14).

All dates are listed, with the new song, below...
