Weekend Nachos announce final album 'Apology,' share new song "Writhe"
Chicago grindcore outfit Weekend Nachos announced that they’re breaking up earlier this year, and they’ve already scheduled their final tour dates. Well now they’ve begun the process of sharing their final music, announcing the new album Apology and sharing the new song “Writhe.”
“Writhe” is, in a lot of ways, the prototypical Weekend Nachos song, and I mean that as a compliment. The band begins with hits that alternate with blast beats before slipping easily into a hardcore groove that takes them into a chugging, head-bobbing conclusion. These guys have perfected the art of the sub-two-minute anger statement, embodying so many different shades of fury in such a condensed timeframe. Listen below. Apology is out May 20th on Relapse.
As we mentioned, that final Weekend Nachos tour will hit NYC for a show at Saint Vitus on May 20 (which is the day that the new album drops) with support from The Afternoon Gentlemen, Mother Brain and Gets Worse. That show is sold out.
