Westerman announces debut album, shares "I Think I'll Stay," expands tour

UK artist Westerman has announced his debut album, Your Hero Is Not Dead, which will be out June 5 via Partisan. The album contains “Blue Comanche,” which he released in January, and the new single is the light, breezy “I Think I’ll Stay,” that recalls ’70s yacht rock minus sax or strings. “I wrote this while I was moving a lot,” says Westerman. “I was thinking about a chronic pain condition when it started. That pain is a very specific type, but I think there’s an inevitable amount of pain that everyone goes through just being alive. A friend was talking to me about how they’re going to be working until they’re 80 years old, so what’s the difference. In the song, I’m trying to say that it’s worth sticking around. It’s a sort of giddy affirmation of being.” Listen to “I Think I’ll Stay” below.

You can catch Westerman on his North American tour this summer, which includes a NYC show at National Sawdust on July 22. He’s added more dates since the initial announce, including DC, Philly, Chicago, Seattle and Vancouver. All dates are listed below.
