Westerman shares new single, announces North American dates

UK artist Westerman has signed to Partisan in North America and Play it Again Sam in the rest of the world, and he has just shared his first single for the labels. “Blue Comanche” is dreamy in an ’80s kind of way, with warm synthesizers washing over acoustic guitars and it’s the type of song where you wouldn’t be surprised if a pan flute entered the mix (it doesn’t). “‘Blue Comanche’ is about the inevitability of environmental loss as a consequence of modernization,” says Westerman of the track. “I’m not a Luddite, I don’t think we should go back to the Stone Age or anything, but there’s still something profoundly sad about what’s being lost.” Listen below.

Westerman has also announced a few summer North American shows, starting with Brooklyn’s National Sawdust on July 22, and then heading to Toronto (7/25 @ The Garrison), Los Angeles (7/30 @ Masonic Lodge), and San Francisco (7/31 @ The Independent). Tickets for those shows go on sale Friday, January 17 at 10 AM local time. He’s also playing London in June — all dates are listed below.
