Browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows. Here are some highlights…

Dent May, Dead Gaze, Calvin Love @ 285 Kent (early)
Mississippi leisure enthusiast Dent May released his new album, Warm Blanket, this summer via Paw Tracks and features more of his good time lite funk. He puts on a fun live show too.

The Field, JDH & Dave P @ 285 Kent (late)
Stick around 285 Kent after Dent for one of NYC’s best dance parties, FIXED, as it celebrates its 9th anniversary with this party tonight, and they’re doing so with a live, full-band set from The Field.

GZA, Tanlines, Kitty Pryde, Mas Ysa @ Metrotech Commons
This free (with RSVP) show is in honor of the 12 universities and 60,000+ college students in Downtown Brooklyn. 5-9 PM.

Wavves, King Tuff, Jacuzzi Boys @ Irving Plaza
Once the slacker lo-fi project of Nathan Williams, Wavves is now a hard-working, fully fledged, borderline pop punk band. Whatever your thoughts on the band are (they’ve certainly faced some criticism), it’s hard to deny how catchy those songs are, and they’re one of the more fun live bands in indie rock at the moment. King Tuff and Jacuzzi Boys, who also know a thing or two about good, driving rock, open the show.

Massive Attack V Adam Curtis @ Park Avenue Armory
Trip hop pioneers Massive Attack have collaborated with filmmaker Adam Curtis for this thought-provoking sensory overload. Reggae legend Horace Andy and Cocteau Twins vocalist Liz Fraser add to the experience. Just don’t expect a traditional concert.

Kode9, DJ Rashad, DJ Spinn, Brenmar, Ikonika @ Output
Hyperdub is one of the most forward-thinking labels around (I mean, they signed Burial), and tonight labelhead Kode9 brings two of his finest DJs — DJ Rashad and Ikonika — to Output for the NYC stop on the label’s tour.

No Monster Club, Mindtroll, Evil Sword, M Sord @ Cake Shop
Ireland’s No Monster Club make new wave-y indie rock, as can be heard on their single “La La Land” and you can watch the video for that below.

Special Guest, Special Guest, Yuppies, PC Worship @ Death By Audio
Omaha, NE’s Yuppies make skronky, shouty, punky rock that wouldn’t have been out of place on SST Records in 1985. They played last night at MHOW with Parquet Courts who mentioned something about “special guests” at tonight’s DbA show.

Leverage Models, Maria Minerva, Beca, Tippy Toes @ Glasslands
If you like Big ’80s groups like ABC, Spandau Ballet and The Associates, then you will probably dig Leverage Models’ brand of widescreen pop. Tonight’s the record release party for their debut album and the whole line-up is pretty interesting.

Oren Ambarchi, Okkyung Lee, Michelle Boule @ Issue Project Room
IPR continues its 10-year Anniversary tonight with Australian composer and multi-instrumentalist Oren Ambarchi who will be collaborating with a couple talented improvisers: dancer Michelle Boulé and cellist Okkyung Lee.

Blitzen Trapper, PHOX, Horse Thief @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
Portland folk rockers Blitzen Trapper just released their new album, VII, this week and you can stream it over at the NY Times. Tonight’s a record release show and tickets are still available.

My Teenage Stride, Perfect Pussy, Advaeta, Tweens @ Shea Stadium
My Teenage Stride and Advaeta play the local scene a lot, which doesn’t change that they’re great to see, but the main appeal here are Syracuse noise punks Perfect Pussy and Cincinnati garage pop trio Tweens, who are in NYC for two shows together this week. The next is tomorrow at 285 Kent with Potty Mouth and LODRO.

Behold…the Arctopus, Child Abuse, Geryon @ The Acheron
It’s gonna get loud at Acheron tonight, as we’ll be treated to sets from the punishing tech-metal crew Behold… the Arctopus, noise rockers Child Abuse, and Krallice side project Geryon, who make bass’n’drum death metal.

Oblivians, WYLDLIFE, The Shangri Lips @ The Bell House
Having put out their first record in 15 years this spring, Memphis’ garage-soul vets return to NYC tonight. Tickets are still available.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Deap Vally @ Stone Pony
It’s a double dose of garagey riffage and sneery attitude tonight. Where’s your rock n’ roll? Right there.

Steely Dan @ Beacon Theatre
Donald Fagen and Walter Becker continue their seven-night run at Beacon, and tonight they’ll be performing their 1976 album, The Royal Scam, in full with an additional set of favorites. So deep cut lovers who’ve been clamoring to hear “Haitian Divorce” and “The Caves of Altamira,” tonight’s for you. Tickets are still available.

Sole, Jel (from Themselves/13 & God), Louis Logic, Thanksgiving Brown, Bomarr (DJ Set) @ Knitting Factory
It’s a night of indie rap at Knitting Factory tonight as two Anticon rappers, Sole and Jel, team up to co-headline the venue.

‘Breaking Glass’ screening @ Videology (FREE)
BV’s Bill Pearis hosts tonight’s screening of UK cult classic Breaking Glass which is kind of like a post-punk A Star Is Born which stars new wave icon Hazel O’Connor (who also wrote all the songs). Check out the trailer below. Bill’s DJing afterwards too.

Dita Von Teese @ The Gramercy Theatre
Burlesque superstar Dita Von Teese continues her four-night run at Gramercy.
