It’s the last day of the 2013 CMJ Music Marathon and there’s so much good music going on everywhere, you should really go and and see something. Specifically, we’d love to see you at our our free party at Baby’s All Right which goes from noon to 2 AM. (Yes, we went a little crazy.) Browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows. We’ve got tonight’s highlights — most but not all are CMJ shows — here and more options listed further down.

Spires, Pity Sex, Courtney Barnett, Yuck, King Dude, Nothing, Pallbearer, Mac McCaughan, Ex Hex, Drowners, Joanna Gruesome, Public Service Broadcasting @ Baby’s All Right (FREE)
Our second of two FREE (no RSVP, no badges) parties at Baby’s All Right (146 Broadway in Williamsburg) goes down today, and it’s a day and night party. The later portion of the day features goth-country balladeer King Dude, Relapse-signed shoegazers Nothing, a SPECIAL heavy GUEST (TBA very soon) Pallbearer, grunge-folk singer Torres, folk-y emo-y rockers Hop Along, a solo set from Superchunk’s Mac McCaughan, and the NYC debut of Mary Timony’s (Wild Flag, Helium, Autoclave) talented pretty boys Drowners, CMJ breakout stars Joanna Gruesome and hard to describe (but worth staying up for) Public Service Broadcasting. There’s also free rum courtesy of Sailor Jerry and free tattoos too (till 6 PM). Did we say it was FREE? It is.

Arcade Fire @ 299 Meserole
Montreal’s indie royalty have all but hijacked CMJ with these two shows in Bushwick. It’s sure to be a spectacle. Did you go last night?

Ryan Hemsworth, Kelela, TRAXMAN, The Range, Jahiliyya Fields, HUERCO S., Mas Ysa@ 285 Kent Avenue
This is the second of two shows Pitchfork is doing at 285 Kent this week, and this one leans on the electronic side. It’s got sets from forward-thinking R&B singer Kelela, footwork wizard Traxman, rising indie pop guy Mas Ysa, rising IDM producer The Range, and more.

Hunters, Bleeding Rainbow, Lost Boy?, Dirty Fences, Las Rosas, Unstoppable Death Machines, Roomrunner, Ken South Rock, Baby Acid, Lazyeyes, Flashlights, Surprise Guest @ Fontana’s
There’s a lot of bands on this one, including some of the hotter ones this year like grungy punks Roomrunner, punky shoegazers Bleeding Rainbow, and lively rockers Hunters.

No Way Jose, Misun, Hockey, Black Taxi, Wild Adriatic, Josh Berwanger, Gemini Club, Marmalakes, Attic Ends @ Mercury Lounge
The artist we’re most excited for on this bill is Josh Berwanger, former frontman of The Anniversary, who’s now making some pretty solid solo music. It’s his only CMJ show.

Father John Misty (solo), Kate Berlant @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
Whether or not you like his songwriting, it’s hard to deny that Father John Misty is quite the performer. His full band shows are a real spectacle, and tonight he strips it down for a solo set. Comedian Kate Berlant opens.

Good Riddance, Western Addiction, Night Birds @ Rocks Off Concert Cruises
This is the cruise portion of Fat Wreck Chords’ annual CMJ showcase with TWO reunion bands: Good Riddance and Western Addiction. Plus, we recommend seeing Night Birds, whose surfy skate punk likely wouldn’t exist without some of the key Fat bands of the past (and also Dead Kennedys, Descendents, etc).

Braid, The Jazz June, Enemies, Have Mercy @ Saint Vitus
Speaking of TWO reunion bands, emo vets Braid and The Jazz June both grace the official Topshelf showcase tonight, which should make for a very fun night of emo nostalgia.

Tigers Jaw, Hostage Calm, Pity Sex, Captain We’re Sinking, Cloakroom, Modern Baseball, Young Statues, Petal, GDP @ Santos Party House
Tonight’s other big emo showcase, the Run for Cover showcase, goes down at Santos Party House. Some of our favorite bands on the label are on this one, like the shoegazey Pity Sex and the sludgy Cloakroom, and it’s being headlined by the recently Pitchfork-approved Tigers Jaw.

Speedy Ortiz, Pile, Ovlov, Porches, Kal Marks, Two Inch Astronaut, Grass Is Green, Roomrunner, Palehound, Krill, Fat History Month @ Silent Barn
The Exploding In Sound showcase goes down at Silent Barn with just about every band on their label, plus a few of their friends, and really every single band here is recommended for any fans of real-deal indie rock.

King Dude (11pm), SISU (10pm), Weeknight (9pm), Zig Zags (8pm) @ Union Pool
This bill leans on the darker side, with sets from goth/noir country balladeer King Dude and Dum Dum Girls-related SISU.

Peaches @ Le Poisson Rouge
Tonight’s show is to celebrate the NYC theatrical release of her performance documentary, Peaches Does Herself, which is currently playing at Village theater The Quad. Tonight’s show is with JD Samson, Sandy Kane, and Chris E. Pants.

Pearl Jam @ Barclays Center
Though they don’t have the radio hits they did in the ’90s, Pearl Jam are still massively popular with legions of fans — hence selling out two nights at Barclays Center (tonight’s the second).

Half Moon Run, Haerts, MisterWives, Gospels, Flagship @ Bowery Ballroom
Montreal’s Half Moon Run mingle ’60s folk rock harmonies and modern dynamics and percussion.

Jonathan Toubin (Soul Clap & Dance-Off), Nick Waterhouse (guest selector) @ Brooklyn Bowl
In addition to Waterhouse’s DJ set, tonight Dance Off judges are Simon Raymonde (Bella Union/Cocteau Twins), Jacco Gardner, Chris Shaw (Ex-Cult), Christian Peslak (Saint Rich), Maria Juur (Maria Minerva), and Sandra Vu (SISU/Dum Dum Girls)..

Telepopmusik, Dream Koala, Betty Black @ Cameo Gallery
It’s been a long time since this French dance duo played NYC and this is an especially tiny place for them to be playing. Betty Black (who opens too) will join them as wil Angela McCluskey who sang vocals on the band’s biggest hit, “Breathe.”

Hookworms @ BVCMJ (photo by Chris La Putt)

Hookworms, Kirin J Callinan, Ex-Cult, Joanna Gruesome, Spires @ Death By Audio
Here are some of CMJ Week’s buzziest bands — JG, Hookworms, Kirin (and the awesome Ex Cult) — all playing at one show together. Not an official CMJ show.

Hospitality, Pattern is Movement, The Building @ Glasslands
It’s been nearly two years since Hospitality released their debut album. Expect a lot of new songs at tonight’s show.

William Basinski, Aki Onda, Raha Raissnia @ Issue Project Room
IPR continues its 10-year Anniversary tonight with acclaimed The Disintegration Loops composer William Basinski. This one’s sold out.

Flashlights, Islands, Kid Karate, Obits, The History of Apple Pie @ Knitting Factory Brooklyn
Few bands do snarly, garagey, pedal-to-the-metal rock as well as Obits. The rest of the bill is good too, and Islands were just announced as tonight’s surprise performers.

Crocodiles, Dream Boys, Bleeding Rainbow, Punks On Mars @ Passenger Bar (FREE)
Williamsburg’s Passenger Bar gives itself over to Zoo Music, the label run by Dee Dee of Dum Dum Girls and her husband Brandon Welchez (Crocodiles). In addition to Crocodiles and Bleeding Rainbow (reason enough to go), don’t miss LA’s uberjangly Dream Boys and extremely underrated glammy garage rockers Punks on Mars. This show is FREE.

Ghost Wave, The Shackeltons, Weird Womb, The Suzan, Oscar Key Sung, Dream Shake, Eternal Summers @ Pianos
Ghost Wave sounds like a name created by Chunklet to make fun of hipster bands, but they’re worth a listen, especially if you like post-VU motorik style strumming. This is a fun show all around.

Waltz, TV Ghost, The Deer Tracks, Ice Choir, Lia Mice @ Pianos
Meanwhile this is happening upstairs at Pianos with more than a few good acts too. If you like ’80s stuff like Scritti Politti and Prefab Sprout, the Ice Choir (feature Kurt from Depreciation Guild and TPOBPAH) expertly recreate the sonics of that era.

The English Beat @ The Bell House
If you don’t take issue with Dave Wakeling being the only originally member of The Beat in this line-up — and that the set will also contain more than a few General Public songs — there’s no denying the many good tunes from their catalog.

Great Lakes, Fan Modine, Joanna Gruesome, Room Full of Strangers, Sophie Auster, Riverwild, Three Thousand Crowns @ The Rock Shop (FREE)If you live over near Park Slope and don’t feel like coming into the city (or over to Williamsburg) for CMJ, here’s a chance to see some good indie-pop-ish bands, including CMJ winners Joanna Gruesome and the underappreciated North Carolina orch-pop band Fan Modine.

More notable Saturday options are listed below, but for all of tonight’s shows, and tomorrow’s, check out our full NYC show calendar.
