Elvis Costello & The Roots at Brooklyn Bowl in 2013 (more by Dana (distortion) Yavin)
Elvis Costello

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight's shows, but here are some highlights...

Elvis Costello, The Roots @ The Capitol Theatre
Power pop vet Elvis Costello and alt-rap band The Roots teamed up last year for the collaborative album, Wise Up Ghost. They've still only played a very select amount of shows together, like their September release show at Brooklyn Bowl, and tonight is their first NYC-area appearance since that show.

Juicy J, Travis Scott, Project Pat @ Irving Plaza
Once a member of the Three 6 Mafia, Juicy J is officially an elder statesman of trap rap, but doesn't act like one. He stays trippy, collaborates with younger guys like A$AP Rocky and Big Sean, and can be just as stupid fun. Joining him tonight is Kanye collaborator Travis Scott and Project Pat, Juicy J's older brother and frequent collaborator.

Imperial Topaz, Hexbreaker, Quintet, Jerry Paper, Seth Graham @ Death By Audio
NYC ambient pop duo Imperial Topaz have been releasing singles and playing local shows for about a year now, and tonight they celebrate the release of their debut album, Full of Grace, at this release show.

Teen Commandments, House of Blondes, New Myths, Sandy @ Glasslands
Brooklyn trio New Myths make spectral synth-rock and are currently finishing up work on their new album but you can stream their 2012 EP below. Tonight they play with the similarly minded House of Blondes.

Jangula, Life Size Maps, Darlings, Teen Girl Scientist Monthly, Turnip King @ Pianos
It's the second week of Life Size Maps' residency at Pianos and they've put together a nice line-up of indie rock locals to play alongside them.

Champagne Jerry, Hand Job Academy, Ratchet By Nature @ Union Pool
Ad Rock collaborator Champagne Jerry continued his monthly Joe's Pub appearances last week (3/7), and tonight he plays another NYC show at Union Pool.

Lorde, Lo-Fang @ Roseland Ballroom
The popular Lorde wraps up her sold-out three-night run at the soon-to-close Roseland Ballroom with support from the 4AD-signed Lo-Fang.

Ellie Goulding, Conway @ The Theater @ MSG
Not unlike Lorde, Ellie Goulding's pop songs are somewhat "alternative"-minded. She begins her two-night stand at the Theater at MSG tonight.

Big Terrific @ Cameo
Max Silvestri hosts the free weekly comedy show in the back of Williamsburg's Lovin' Cup. No word yet on tonight's lineup but you can check Max's Twitter.

Not the busiest night, partially because everyone's in or heading to Austin for SXSW. Including most of BrooklynVegan. Follow our exploits via @BVSXSW on Twitter. If you're in Austin, come say hi at one of our many events (most of which are free).

For all of tonight's shows, and tomorrow's, check out our NYC concert calendar.

For laughs, check out the NYC Comedy calendar too.
