You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Jenny Hval, Briana Marela @ Rough Trade
Norwegian art pop musician Jenny Hval made her boldest album yet with this year’s Apocalypse, girl (out now on Sacred Bones), and tonight’s her first NYC show since its release.

Electric Zoo @ Randall’s Island
The three-day EDM fest Electric Zoo returns to NYC this weekend. It’s mostly the kinds of big names you usually se at these types of festivals, but today also has some cool stuff like The Glitch Mob, Com Truise, Pete Tong, Hot Since 82, Jonas Rathsman, and jackLNDN.

Real Life Buildings, Long Beard, Bethlehem Steel, Sean Henry @ Silent Barn
A handful of regulars on the local DIY scene come together for this show. One of particular note is intimate New Brunswick songwriter Long Beard.

Noveller, Telecaves, Bill Nace, Christopher Tignor @ Trans-Pecos
This is a pretty great bill of experimental music with guitar soundscaper Noveller, LA ambient musician Telecaves, Kim Gordon’s Body/Head collaborator Bill Nace, and This Will Destroy You collaborator Christopher Tignor.

Junglepussy, Joey LaBeija, NARC, DJ Lamin Fofana, DJ Ushka @ Trans-Pecos
This bill brings together a few of the forward-thinking artists currently buzzing in New York’s underground electronic and rap worlds. It’s an afternoon show, happening before the Noveller show (listed above) at the same venue.

Maceo Plex, DJ Tennis, David August [live], Rebolledo, DJ Koze @ 50 Kent
House producer Maceo Plex headlines this big outdoor show, and if you’re going another artist especially of note on the bill is DJ Koze. His latest full length included collaborations with Caribou, Apparat, Matthew Dear and Milosh.

Bass Drum of Death, Threats, Winstons @ Baby’s All Right
Alabama garage rock duo Bass Drum of Death released their most recent album, Rip This, last fall. Up for this weekend’s Made in America Festival in Philadelphia, they’re making time for a Brooklyn show tonight.

Witch, Carousel, The Bevis Frond, The Golden Grass, Worshipper @ The Wick
This is day 2 of Tee Pee Records two-day ‘Cosmic Sonic Rendezvous’ featuring a variety of heavy and psych sounds, including cult UK band The Bevis Frond, plus J Mascis and King Tuff’s stoner rock band Witch, Pittsburgh riff-rockers Carousel, Brooklyn’s The Golden Grass, and Boston-area band Worshipper.

BV editor Bill Pearis is hosting Gilmore Girls trivia tonight at Videology in Williamsburg. Starts at 7 PM and is free.
