You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Goodspeed You! Black Emperor, Samara Lubelski @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
Post rock greats Godspeed You! Black Emperor returned in 2012 after a 10-year absence from releasing albums, and this year they dropped another one. The new stuff is no less colossal-sounding than their classic material, making this band as exciting as ever. Tonight they continue 3-night run in NYC, and this one’s with the smallest of the three shows, with experimental musician Samara Lubelski opening.

Reigning Sound, Mr. Airplane Man, EZTV @ The Bell House
Led by Memphis garage rock luminary Greg Cartwright, Reigning Sound mix stomping rock n’ roll with heavy soul. If you’re heading to the bell house tonight, don’t miss openers EZTV who recall the early ’80s powerpop of Tommy Keene and Matthew Sweet.

LA Priest, Mansionair, and Rozes @ Baby’s All right
Some of you may remember mid-’00s UK band Late of the Pier who were lumped in with the “nu-rave” genre that included Klaxons and New Young Pony Club. The band broke up in 2010 but singer Sam Dust now makes music under the name LA Priest. His debut, Inji, was just released earlier this year via Domino and while Dust is still an odd bird, LA Priest is more focused, sonically, sticking mainly with melted funk slow jams. Tonight’s his NYC debut.

Bob Moses, Desert Sound Colony @ Bowery Ballroom
Canadian duo Bob Moses recently put out their debut album on Domino, which sees them making moody electronic pop. Tonight’s show is sold out.

Alessia Cara, Austin Millz, Passion Pit (DJ set) @ FADER + vitaminwater
FADER + vitaminwater’s week-long series of free-with-RSVP shows continues tonight with one of R&B’s freshest new faces, Def Jam signee Alessia Cara, headlining.

Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls, Skinny Lister, Beans on Toas @ Irving Plaza
British folk punk Frank Turner wraps up his 3-night stand at Irving Plaza tonight in support of his new album Positive Songs For Negative People, with likeminded openers. These are small shows for Frank, and all are sold out.

Edley O’Dowd (DJ Set), Genesis Breyer P-Orridge (DJ Set) @ Passenger Bar
Psychic TV’s Genesis Breyer P-Orridge and Edley O’Dowd will be spinning “deep psychedelic madness” with equally trippy projections from Spencer Brewly (who has worked with Super Furry Animals and more).

Joey Cape, Jo Bergeron, Laura Mardon, Walt Hamburger @ The Bowery Electric
Lagwagon frontman Joey Cape recently released his newest solo album, Stitch Puppy. It’s a good folk/acoustic rock album that even non-fans of his main band (or punk at all) might dig.

Kadavar,The Well @ Saint Vitus Bar
If you like your heavy rock the way they made it in the proto-metal era, both Kadavar and The Well are hopelessly devoted to those sounds.

Rudimental @ Warsaw
Rudimental came out of the house-pop trend Disclosure helped mainstreamize, and these guys are even more maximalist. They just released their second album, We the Generation.

Computer Magic (DJ set), Francis Garcia (DJ set), Field Mouse @ Sixty LES
Field Mouse are playing this rooftop party at the Lower East Side hotel Sixty celebrating the second issue of FLOOD magazine.

Buster Pointdexter @ Cafe Carlyle
David Johansen puts back on the tux and Buster Poindexter persona for a night of cabaret.
