New Year's Eve

Happy 2016! You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights (for those who aren’t too hungover)…

Mutoid Man, Royal Thunder, Ageist @ Saint Vitus
Mutoid Man (mem Cave In, Converge) and Royal Thunder are two metal bands who fall on the bluesier side of the genre, and both of them absolutely rip. This should be an awesome, riff-filled night.

Phish @ MSG
Love ’em or hate ’em, jam staples Phish continue their four night run at MSG tonight. If you love ’em, you probably already have your ticket: the whole thing is sold out.

Gorgon City (DJ), Kidnap Kid (DJ) @ Output
In addition to doing cool things like producing the latest Klaxons album, UK dance duo have also carved themselves a place as staples of the electronic-festival world. Tonight. Fellow Brit Kidnap Kid opens.

They Might Be Giants @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
They Might Be Giants shows during New Year’s have become a tradition and this is the first of three at MHOW this weekend. For the first day of 2016 they’ll be playing Flood in full. Tickets are still available.

Joseph Arthur, Lee Ranaldo @ City Winery
It’s Joseph Athur’s 6th annual New Year’s Day concert at City Winery. He’ll be playing with Sonic Youth’s Lee Ranaldo and probably some other surprise guests.

Jeffrey Lewis, Mal Blum, Jordan Martin, Dibs @ Cake Shop
Cheese on Bread, the “bouncy post-structuralist antifolk twee pop quintet,” are thowing this New Year’s Day soiree with the great Jeffrey Lewis, Don Giovanni signee Mal Blum and more.

For all of tonight’s shows, and tomorrow’s, check out our NYC concert calendar.

For laughs, check out the NYC Comedy calendar too.
