You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Bruce Springsteen @ Prudential Center
The Boss is celebrating his classic 1980 double album The River this year by playing the whole thing start to finish. He’s promising other favorites too, and his recent MSG was full of great ones. After this, three more NYC shows are on the horizon.

Horrendous, Hercyn, Grudges, Sentience @ Saint Vitus
Of all the modern bands putting a new spin on classic death metal, Horrendous are quite possibly the best one around right now. Last year’s Anareta was at or near the top of many metal lists in 2015, including some of our own.

50 Cent @ Highline Ballroom
50 Cent’s sadly more well known these days for taking shots at Meek Mill on Instagram than he is for his new music, but there’s no denying he was unstoppable for a minute there in the 2000s. And that old stuff lives up great. Tonight’s the second of two NYC shows this weekend.

The Paul Collins Beat, The Jay Vons, Talsness @ Union Pool
Former Nerves songwriter and power pop godfather Paul Collins helped pioneer a jangly sound that’s still being imitated today.

Stand Up for 826NYC feat. Maeve Higgins, Chris Gethard, Seaton Smith, Naomi Ekperigin, Giulia Rozzi, Sean Donnelly, Katina Corrao @ Bell House
A great lineup of comedy talent is on hand for this benefit for 826NYC, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting students ages 6-18 with their creative and expository writing skills.

Cigarettes After Sex, Libsyd Read @ Baby’s All Right
Local act Cigarettes After Sex have racked up nearly six millions plays of their single “Nothing’s Gonna Hurt You Baby” that sounds a little like Mazzy Star covering The Pretenders “Back on the Chain Gang.”
