George Clinton

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Fetty Wap, Post Malone, Monty @ Irving Plaza
Fetty Wap’s debut album spawned four charting singles and about twice as many could-be singles, but you already know this because you couldn’t leave your house last year without hearing them. Tonight’s the first of two Irving Plaza shows with frequent collaborator Monty and “White Iverson” rapper Post Malone.

Matthew Logan Vasquez, Hideout @ Baby’s All Right
Delta Spirit frontman Matthew Logan Vasquez is taking the solo route this year, and going by what we’ve heard from his new project so far, it’s definitely on the rockin’ side.

Baio, The Range, Griffin Camper @ Bowery Ballroom
The new Vampire Weekend album is supposedly in the works, but in the meantime bassist Chris Baio is taking time to focus on his solo career. (And as you probably know, Rostam left the band.) If you like VW’s unique brand of pop, you’ll probably dig Baio too.

George Clinton And Parliament Funkadelic @ BB King Blues Club
The sound of R&B and hip hop would be very different today without George Clinton and P-Funk’s pioneering, out-there sounds. He still pilots the mothership with skill and grooves.

Mardi Gras Bash w/ Hungry March Band, Jonathan Toubin, Baby Soda @ Bell House
It’s Fat Tuesday and you can celebrate at this Mardi Gras bash hosted by Tanya Soloman featuring the expert selections of DJ Jonathan Toubin, and the fun Hungry March Band.

Lupe Fiasco @ Wellmont Theatre
Lupe Fiasco came out of the gate with the very strong Food & Liquor in 2006, but kinda lost it a bit after 2007’s The Cool. That was no longer true after last year’s Tetsuo & Youth though, his best album in years.

Stalley, Torae, Ace Cosgrove, ISAIAHTHE3RD, Corey Lee @ The Studio at Webster Hall
Ohio rapper Stalley returned late last month with the Saving Yusuf mixtape, which features Big K.R.I.T. and more. Tonight’s his first NYC show since its release.

Chris Gethard @ UCB Theatre
The very funny Chris Gethard does another of his ‘Career Suicide’ shows tonight, “an hour of stand up focusing on suicide, alcoholism, and all the other funniest parts of life.” Usually he does them at Union Hall, but tonight he returns to UCB, one of the places he got his start.

Mike Birbiglia @ The Lynn Redgrave Theater
Comedian Mike Birbiglia has been doing his show “Thank God for the Jokes” for nearly two years. He’s finally putting it to bed, but not before this six-week run.

For all of tonight’s shows, and tomorrow’s, check out our NYC concert calendar.

For laughs, check out the NYC Comedy calendar too.
