What's going on Friday?

Casket Lottery
The Casket Lottery

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

The Casket Lottery, Bay Faction @ Saint Vitus Bar
Late ’90s / early ’00s post-hardcore greats The Casket Lottery, who just reissued three of their out-of-print late-’90s/early-’00s albums, are currently in the middle of a BrooklynVegan-presented tour.

Kelly Lee Owens, Ela Minus, Carmen Villain @ Elsewhere Hall
Showing a deep knowledge of dance music’s past, Kelly Lee Owens pours elements of techno, house, trip hop, ambient, and more — not to mention her own voice — into her own ethereal, hypnotic style. Her debut album was one of 2017’s best.

Bully @ House of Vans
One day after playing BrooklynVegan’s official SXSW showcase, Nashville’s snarling indie rockers jet to Brooklyn to play this free show at House of Vans.

Remy Ma @ Irving Plaza
Veteran Bronx rapper Remy Ma has continued to have something of a comeback since the success of “All the Way Up” (and her highly publicized beef with Nicki Minaj). Catch her tonight, still on the upward.

Blake Schwarzenbach, Brian Baker, Laura Stevenson @ Knitting Factory Brooklyn
This is a taping of the Going Off Track podcast. The last time Blake was on it, he did a rare performance of a Jets to Brazil song. Will he have any surprises like that in store this time?

Earthless, JJUUJJUU, Kikagaku Moyo @ Market Hotel
California heavy psych vets Earthless celebrate the release of their new album, Black Heaven. which is out today on Nuclear Blast.

No Bra, Organ Tapes, Debit, 7038634357 @ Secret Project Robot
With a laptop backing of Slits/Raincoats-style grooves, Susanne Oberbeck comes off  like the entire catalog of The Fall condensed into one topless woman.

Phil Lesh & the Terrapin Family Band @ The Capitol Theatre
Having just played some duo shows with fellow founding Grateful Dead member Bob Weir, Phil Lesh wraps up his three-night run at the Cap with his Terrapin Family Band.

Mikey Erg, The Passengers, Surf Thugs, J. Boxer @ The Footlight
Cult pop punks The Ergs! play reunion shows once in a blue moon these days, but Mikey’s solo material is cut from a very similar cloth and he’s just as worth seeing.

David Cross @ Union Hall
The Mr Show and Arrested Development star has been testing out new material at a series of Union Hall shows he’s dubbed “Shootin’ the Shit, Seeing What Sticks.” He’s still shootin’ and seein’.

Upper Wilds, War Bubble @ Union Pool
Upper Wilds, the new group from Dan Friel (Parts & Labor) released their debut album via Thrill Jockey last years; while War Bubble features members of Talk Normal and Swirlies.

Mick Barr, Liederkreis, New Firmament @ Wonders of Nature
Avant metal guitarist Mick Barr (Kralice, Orthrealm) headlines this night of experimental sounds.

Springsteen on Broadway @ Walter Kerr Theatre
The Boss continues his completely sold-out “Springsteen on Broadway” run at the Walter Kerr Theatre, which has now been extended through June! At these shows, Bruce is giving fans shows “that are as personal and as intimate as possible.”

Most of the BrooklynVegan staff is in Austin this week for SXSW where we’re hosting a bunch of shows, including three free “Lost Weekend 2″ day parties at Cheer Up Charlies now through Saturday from noon to 6 PM. If you’re in Austin we hope to see you there and if you’re not you can watch the day parties via the  livestream.
