What's going on Friday?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Homeshake @ Baby’s All Right
Mainstays on Spotify playlists, Canadian slacker pop artist and Mac DeMarco cohort Homeshake (aka Peter Sagar) is in NYC for a couple intimate shows, including tonight’s which is a “belated 6th birthday” party for Baby’s All Right. He also plays The Dance on Sunday.

Jerry Seinfeld @ Beacon Theatre (2 shows)
He may be mega-rich off reruns but Jerry Seinfeld still loves doing comedy and does so once a month at Beacon Theatre. Two shows tonight.

Plaid, Prism House @ Elsewhere
UK electronic vets Plaid released their 10th album, Polymer, back in June, with Andy Turner and Ed Handley exploring themes of “polyphony, pollution and politics” with their typically sophisticated, melodic beats.

D’usse Palooza w/ Cam’ron, Jim Jones, The LOX, Swizz Beatz, Just Blaze & more @ Barclays Center
Tonight, Barclays Center hosts the big D’usse Palooza with the great veteran local rappers Cam’ron, Jim Jones, and The LOX, great veteran local producers Swizz Beatz and Just Blaze, and more.

Turnover, Men I Trust, Renata Zeiguer @ House of Independents
This very appealing dream pop triple bill hits Asbury Park tonight, Manhattan on Saturday, and Brooklyn on Sunday.

Jingle Ball w/ Taylor Swift, Lizzo & more @ Madison Square Garden
Z100’s Jingle Ball is tonight, which you probably aren’t itching to attend, but in addition to the critically acclaimed headliner, it’s also a chance to see the unanimously loved Lizzo. Others on the lineup include The Jonas Brothers, Camila Cabello, Halsey, 5 Seconds of Summer, and more.

Obituary, False Prophet, Extinction A.D. @ Saint Vitus
It’s night two of two for death metal legends Obituary, who are performing their classic 1990 sophomore album Cause of Death tonight.

Mongol Horde, Armed for Apocolypse, Rebuiler @ Market Hotel
Frank Turner wraps up his busy year with a run of shows from his hardcore band Möngöl Hörde. Obviously this is a different project than ‘Frank Turner,’ but Market Hotel (where the show was moved from Saint Vitus) is a rare chance to see Frank play a room this up close and personal.

Taking Back Sunday, Dave Hause, Modern Chemistry @ Starland Ballroom
Taking Back Sunday have been on their 20th anniversary tour all year, and tonight they begin their annual two-night Holiday Spectacular at NJ’s Starland Ballroom. If you’re going, don’t miss Dave Hause’s opening set.

Pile, Patio, Gabby’s World @ Le Poisson Rouge
Boston indie rockers Pile have built a pretty diehard fanbase over the years, and as good as their records are, it’s their killer live shows where their reputation is really earned. Solid openers tonight too.

Jon Daly, Jon Glaser @ Mercury Lounge
We’re not exactly sure what to expect from this rare comedy show at Mercury Lounge, but we love both Jon Daly (Kroll Show, Bob’s Burgers) and Jon Glazer (Delocated, Parks & Rec), so they’ve probably cooked up something special.

Annie Hart, Drew Citron, Jane Herships @ Union Pool
Au Revoir Simone’s Annie Hart celebrates the release of her new album, A Softer Opening, with additional sets from her friends Drew Citron (Beverly, Public Practice) and Jane Herships (Spider, TEEN).

Sick of It All, Agnostic Front, Gilligan’s Revenge @ Blackthorn 51
Two veteran NYHC bands, Agnostic Front and Sick Of It All, are playing small venues in four of the five boroughs this week. This is night three, in Queens.

You can also find quality entertainment on almost any night of the week at: Barbès bar and performance space in Park Slope, LunÀtico in Bed Stuy, Nublu in the East Village, Blue Note jazz club in the West Village, The Stone in multiple locations, Comedy Cellar in the West Village, and Q.E.D. comedy club in Astoria.
