You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight's shows, but here are some highlights...

This Is Not This Heat, Talibam! @ Pioneer Works
Though they came up through British fusion jazz, This Heat's experimentalism, with innovative use of tape loops, pulled them into the experimental post-punk scene of the late '70s. Charles Bullen and Charles Hayward, two thirds of the band, play This Heat songs tonight, joined by Daniel O’Sullivan, Frank Byng, Alex Ward, and James Sedwards.

Mini Mansions, Nation of Language @ Mercury Lounge
Mini Mansions is the band led by Queens of the Stone Age bassist Michael Shuman, and they had Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner (and Beach Boys' Brian Wilson) sing on their latest album. They're also touring with Arctic Monkeys, and opening their show at NYC's Forest Hills Stadium tomorrow, but first they headline a much smaller NYC show tonight.

Cowboy Junkies @ City Winery
Dream/folk/slowcore vets Cowboy Junkies gave a 30th anniversary reissue to their classic Trinity Sessions LP earlier this year, and then they released a very worthy new album, All That Reckoning, last week. This is night two of a three-night run at City Winery.

Britney Spears @ Radio City Music Hall
It's Britney, bitch! Having recently wrapped up a Vegas residency, Britney is bringing her show on the road for the first time in a while, and tonight she begins a two-night stand at Radio City.

Spindrift, Heaven @ Knitting Factory
Longrunning psych band Spindrift have been mining spaghetti western scores, other soundtrack music and psych-rock for over 20 years.

Reverend Vince Anderson @ Union Pool
Rev. Vince has been preaching the gospel on Monday nights in Williamsburg for almost 10 years with his band The Love Choir (that usually includes at least one member of TV on the Radio and often members of The Dap Kings). As always, free.

Butterboy w/ Jo, Aparna and Maeve @ Littlefield
This week's Butterboy features sets from Hari Kondabolu, Michelle Biloon, Maria Shehata, Sam Taggart, Samantha Ruddy, Dwayne Kennedy, and more.
