You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Graham Coxon (of Blur), Dances (solo) @ Bowery Ballroom
Blur’s Graham Coxon has released eight very good solo albums over the years, and most recently did the score for Netflix series The End of the F***ing World, but he’s never toured North America on his own — until now.

Mountain Man @ Rough Trade
In the eight years since Mountain Man released their debut album, Amelia Randall Meath started gaining popularity as half of Sylvan Esso (whose early hit “Play it Right” was a Mountain Man rework), while Molly Erin Sarle and Alexandra Sauser-Monnig pursued solo careers. Now they’re finally back with a new album, Magic Ship, and they’re celebrating it with this free release show/signing. They also have a larger NYC show in October at Music Hall of Williamsburg.

‘Sweetheart of the Rodeo’ 50th anniversary w/ Roger McGuinn, Chris Hillman, Marty Stuart @ Town Hall
The Byrds’ Roger McGuinn & Chris Hillman will celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Byrds’ landmark country rock classic, Sweetheart of the Rodeo, by playing it in full and telling stories surrounding it. They’ll be joined onstage by Marty Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives and Roger says, “We’re all looking forward to taking the fans through the back pages of the recording. The concert will include songs that led up to that ground breaking trip to Nashville and all the songs from the album.”

PIG, The GodBombs @ The Bowery Electric
Raymond Watts has played in KMFDM, Nine Inch Nails, and Einstürzende Neubauten and other industrial bands and makes a racket on his own as PIG.

Shark Toys, Oh Boland, Flexi @ ALPHAVILLE
Irish garage punks Oh Boland will be in the U.S. to play Gonerfest in Memphis next week and will play a few other dates leading up to that, including this one tonight that’s with LA garage punks Shark Toys.

Butterboy Comedy @ Littlefield
Joe Firestone and maeve Higgins host Butterboy tonight, with guests Myq Kaplan, Eman El-Husseini, Shane Torres, Melissa Stokoski, Jourdain Fisher, Deanna Ortiz, and more.

Ask Me Another w/ VIP Guests: Tom Arnold & Jill Sobule @ The Bell House
Ophira Eisenberg’s much-loved quiz show podcast (with bandleader Jonathan Coulton) tonight welcomes contestants Tom Arnold and Jill Sobule.

Patti Smith: Words and Music @ Minetta Lane Theatre
NYC punk legend and author is combining two of her talents for this run of “Words and Music” shows, which will feature “original spoken-word performance interwoven with music from her beloved catalog creating a one-of-a-kind intimate portrait of this pioneering artist.” This is the final night of the run.

Black Sabbath Cover Band Rehearsals (Deradoorian, Nick Zinner, Mick Barr, Brad Truax, Chris Egan, Greg Fox) @ Saint Vitus
The all-star lineup of Deradoorian, Nick Zinner (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Mick Barr (Krallice), Brad Truax (Interpol, Home), Chris Egan (Blood Orange, Solange) and Greg Fox (Liturgy, Uniform, Ex Eye) did a Black Sabbath cover set at Justin Vernon and Aaron/Bryce Dessner’s PEOPLE Festival in Berlin last month, and they’re making the NYC debut of the project tonight.

Father Murphy, Ariadne, King Vision Ultra, Winkie @ H0L0
Earleir this year, Italian post-industrial duo Father Murphy released Rising. A requiem for Father Murphy, which they say will be their final album, and they’re currently on what they say will be their final tour.
