You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight's shows, but here are some highlights...
Stand Up For Heroes @ Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden
Part of the NY Comedy Festival, this annual benefit brings together comedy and music stars -- Bruce Springsteen, Jon Stewart, Seth Meyers, Jim Gaffigan, Jimmy Carr, and Eric Church -- with proceeds going to the Bob Woodruff Foundation which benefits injured veterans and service members.
Colter Wall, Ian Noe @ Irving Plaza
Canadian country singer Colter Wall is in his early 20s, but he sounds like an old soul and his albums sound like lost gems from 1973. His sophomore LP, Songs of the Plains, came out last month.
Matt Kivel, Juliana Daugherty, Sam Moss @ Grimm Ales
Princeton's Matt Kivel headlines this show which also includes indie-folk singer Juliana Daugherty, who released her very promising debut LP Light earlier this year.
Ian Sweet, Young Jesus, Sean Henry @ The Park Church Co-Op
Indie rock bands Ian Sweet and Young Jesus are on the road together supporting their new albums Crush Crusher (Hardly Art) and The Whole Thing Is Just There (Saddle Creek), respectively. That's a pretty cool double bill, and Park Church Co-Op is a gorgeous venue to see it in.
Lil Ugly Mane, Tommy Wright III, Nickelus, Stigmatism @ Brooklyn Bazaar
Lil Ugly Mane was last supposed to play NYC as a member of Secret Circle, who broke up and cancelled all shows, but tonight he's back on his own.
Butterboy Comedy @ Littlefield
Jo Firestone and Maeve Higgins host this week's Butterboy and welcome guests Laurie Kilmartin (Conan, The Jackie And Laurie Show), Patti Harrison (Broad City, The Tonight Show), Kyle Ayers (Boast Rattle, Montreal Comedy Festival), Martha Kelly (Baskets, @Midnight), Anthony Devito (Comedy Central Presents, The Late Show), and Kenice Mobley (San Francisco Sketchfest).
Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
Edie Brickell & New Bohemians, whose debut LP (which features the hit "What I Am") turned 30 this year, released new album Rocket this year as well.
Jen Kirkman @ The Bell House
Part of the NY Comedy Festival, Jen tonight will "tell jokes, stories, lots of it improvised in the moment about what’s going on with her right now, or back then, with everything, with STUFF."
