What's going on Monday?

DEP @ MHOW, 2013 (more by Rebecca Reed)

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Drake, Future, Roy Woods, dvsn @ Madison Square Garden
This show is stacked all around, with Drake and Future who both have countless hits (including a handful together), and two Drake associates opening. It’s especially an exciting chance to catch the mysterious dvsn project in a live setting. This is the fourth of eight NYC-area shows (six of which are in NYC proper).

The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Number Twelve Looks Like You, Earworms @ Rough Trade
Metalcore greats The Dillinger Escape Plan are sadly planning to break up relatively soon, which makes this show even more unmissable than their live shows already are. Not to mention it’s in a very intimate venue, and it’s got the chaotic Number Twelve Looks Like You, who just reunited. Sold out.

Shopping, Yucky Duster, Fits, Boys Online @ Silent Barn
While the scratchy post-punk style UK trio Shopping favor has been done many times before (from The Slits on) there is no question they do it very very well and are terrific live.

Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration (w/ Warren Haynes) @ Central Park SummerStage
Warren Haynes has played with Dead-related bands several times (including with Phil Lesh at the Cap this past Memorial Day weekend), and tonight he leads a symphonic Jerry Garcia tribute.

Sean Price memorial w/ Boot Camp Clik, Skyzoo, Torae, Sadat X, Lord Jamar, and DJ sets by Just Blaze, Pete Rock, Statik Selektah, Cuttin @ The Studio at Webster Hall
Underground New York rap great Sean Price passed away at the much-too-young age of 43 on August 8, 2015, and tonight some of his talented friends will celebrate his life on the one-year anniversary of his death.

Volbeat, Killswitch Engage, Black Wizard @ Ford Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk
If you couldn’t get into the sold-out DEP/#12 show, you can get a (slightly less interesting) dose of metalcore from Killswitch Engage on Coney Island.

Night Train with Aparna Nancherla @ Littlefield
Aparna Nancherla fills in for Wyatt Cenac as host of Night Train this week and welcomes guests Sara Schaefer, Eliza Skinner, Barry Rothbart, Elicia Sanchez, Nimesh Patel, and more.
