What’s going on Monday?
You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight's shows, but here are some highlights...
James Blake, Vince Staples, Moses Sumney @ Radio City Music Hall
James Blake returned earlier this year with The Colour in Anything, his most song-oriented album yet. Tonight he plays the historic Radio City Music Hall, with Long Beach's best rap newcomer Vince Staples, and the hard-to-pigeonhole Moses Sumney.
Bad Religion, Against Me!, Dave Hause @ Irving Plaza
This is one stacked bill. Bad Religion are godfathers of pop punk and remain lifers of the genre, Against Me! are arguably making the best music of their career right now, and the crazy-prolific Dave Hause (The Loved Ones, The Falcon, ex-Paint It Black, etc) is always worth seeing. This is the first of two NYC shows.
Frightened Rabbit @ (le) poisson rouge
Frightened Rabbit returned earlier this year with Painting of a Panic Attack, which is probably their saddest album since fan favorite The Midnight Organ Fight. This intimate NYC show is presented by The Meadows (which Frabbit just played).
The Robert Glasper Experiment @ Bowery Ballroom
The Robert Glasper Experiment recently returned with ArtScience, which truly breaks down the boundaries between pop and jazz. Tonight's show is sold out.
Summer Cannibals, Sharkmuffin, Washer @ Baby's All Right
Portland, OR punks Summer Cannibals (who have a former member of Brooklyn bands Ribbons and My Teenage Stride) recently released an album on Kill Rock Stars and toured with The Thermals. Tonight they return to NYC for a headlining show.
Brujeria, Cattle Decapitation, Pinata Protest, Deathcycle @ Gramercy Theatre
Brujeria headline this show, and if you're going we recommend showing up in time to catch LIHC greats Deathcycle and death metal rippers Cattle Decapitation.
Pity Sex, eskimeaux, T-Rextasy @ Market Hotel
Shoegaze revivalists Pity Sex are sadly no longer with co-leader Britty Drake, but they're continuing on. Tonight's their first NYC show since her departure.
Majid Jordan, DJ TJ @ Webster Hall
Majid Jordan first left their mark by assisting Drake on songs like "Hold On, We're Going Home," and they continue to rise in popularity for their own material.
The Hum @ Manhattan Inn
HYPNOCRAFT's collaborative Monday night series The Hum returns and tonight with feature members of TEEN, Ava Luna, New Myths and more
Night Train @ Littlefield
Wyatt Cenac's weekly comedy show welcomes guests Seaton Smith, Emily Heller, Joel Kim Booster, Kenny DeForest, Rell Battle, Marina Franklin, and more.
