What's going on Monday?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Deerhunter, Aldous Harding, Jock Gang @ Webster Hall
Deerhunter’s shows are always unpredictable and always a great time, no matter what kind of spectacle or setlist you get. Tonight’s show is opened by promising New Zealand artist Aldous Harding (who’s signed to Flying Nun) and art rockers Jock Gang. This is also a way more desirable way to see Deerhunter than their upcoming MSG show opening for Kings of Leon.

Scream, Urban Waste, Wilful Boys @ Bowery Electric
DC hardcore vets Scream — who some people know because of former member Dave Grohl –recently reissued Fumble on Dischord and now the reunited band is playing a few shows. Tonight’s is in New York with local vets Urban Waste.

GZA (performing Liquid Swords) @ City Winery
Not onlyis GZA’s Liquid Swords the best Wu-Tang solo project, it’s also one of the best hip hop albums of the ’90s, period. Tonight he’ll perform it live and share stories as well.

Terry Malts, RIPS, Kissing Is A Crime @ Shea Stadium
After two records of blown-out, buzzsaw pop, Terry Malts take their foot off the gas just a bit this time for new LP, Lost at the Party, letting in a little of the new wave that members Corey Cunningham and Phil Benson made with Magic Bullets seep back into the mix. There’s still a lot of JAMC, The Wedding Present and The Undertones, but they let things nicely jangle too.

Henry Rollins (spoken word) @ Starland Ballroom
“On this tour, fans can expect Henry to mix timely commentary on the current state of politics with anecdotes on his latest L.A. experiences, to perspective gained from his extensive world travels.”

Shellac, Shannon Wright @ The Bell House
Steve Albini’s pummeling band Shellac are in motion this year, and this is the second of two sold-out Bell House this year.

Baby Spiders, Colin’s Heroes, Babe the Blue Ox @ Mercury Lounge
Fans of ’90s indie rock: Baby Spiders is the new band from Tony and Rob of Lotion: Colin’s Heroes is “NYC’s Premier Dambuilders tribute band” with actual Dambuilders Dave Derby and Kevin March (as well as Luna’s Sean Eden); and Babe the Blue Ox have been in operation for 25 years.

Pkew Pkew Pkew, Robes, Daria, J. Robbins @ Saint Vitus
Speaking of Dischord vets, former Jawbox frontman J. Robbins plays Vitus tonight. He’s the opener though. The headliners are PUP’s Canadian pals Pkew Pkew Pkew.

Dave Chappelle @ The Cutting Room
The always-hilarious Dave Chappelle is doing another of his runs of intimate shows at the Cutting Room. It’s a three-night run, and this is night 2. And remember, no cell phones allowed inside venue.

Night Train w/ Wyatt Cenac @ Littlefield
All aboard Wyatt Cenac’s weekly comedy cavalcade, this week with guests Melissa Villasenor, Nick Turner, Emmy Blotnick, Drew Michael, Pete DeAbreu, Sharron Paul, and more.

The Hum @ Littlefield
The final “Hypnocraft Presents: The Hum” of October features Yuka C. Honda (Cibo Matto) + Arone Dyer (Buke + Gase) + Shayna Dunkelman, as well asRachael Price (Lake Street Dive) + Lynette Williams + Christina Courtin (Pilot Violet), and then Eszter Balint + Dayna Kurtz + Sydney Price (Northwood).
