Power 105.1 Powerhouse w/ Meek Mill, Migos, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Lil Baby, DaBaby, Davido, Megan Thee Stallion, Saweetie, Lil TJay, Polo G @ Prudential Center
Power 105.1’s Powerhouse is tonight in Newark, and the lineup is stacked. It’s co-headlined by Meek Mill (whose reign is still unstoppable) and trap kings Migos, and the lineup also includes 2019’s two rookies of the year, DaBaby and Megan Thee Stallion, plus lots of other cool stuff.

‘Live From Here with Chris Thile’ w/ Paul Simon, Rachael & Vilray, Rachael Price, Mavis Staples, Janeane Garofalo @ Town Hall
Live From Here with Chris Thile continues tonight, and this edition has an especially stacked lineup. It’s got a rare performance by the legendary Paul Simon, who retired from touring but still sometimes performs, plus fellow legend Mavis Staples, and more.

Pig Destroyer, Artificial Brain, Pyrrhon, Blame God @ Saint Vitus
Grindcore greats Pig Destroyer went in a slightly slower metalcore direction on last year’s Head Cage, but it was just as great as their whiplash-inducing classics in its own way. They’re playing their second of two consecutive nights at Vitus tonight, with different setlists and different openers each night.

Russian Circles, Windhand @ Warsaw
Instrumental metal greats Russian Circles are back in Brooklyn in support of their very good new album Blood Year, and the show has killer support from sludge/grunge/psych blenders Windhand, who are still riding high off the strength of last year’s great Eternal Return.

Maxo Kream, Q Da Fool @ SOB’s
Maxo Kream was one of 2018’s most promising breakout rappers thanks to the strength of PUNKEN, and he followed it this year with his major label debut Brandon Banks. His first NYC show since Brandon Banks‘ release is tonight.

Helmet @ Bowery Ballroom
NYC alt-metal vets Helmet are celebrating their 30th anniversary on tour this year, and they’re playing a 30-song set each night with no openers.

Joe Russo, Ben Perowsky, Josh Kaufman, & Stuart Bogie: BOYFRIENDS; Kassa Overall; Louis Cole; Antonio Sanchez; and more @ BRIC House
BRIC JazzFest continues today with another marathon filled with cool names from all across the musical spectrum.

Robert Glasper: J Dilla Tribute feat T3 of Slum Village & More @ Blue Note (two shows)
Jazz/hip hop blender continues his month-long residency at the Blue Note Jazz Club, and tonight’s shows are part of an especially cool run, where he’ll be paying tribute to the late, great J Dilla with help from Dilla’s former Slum Village groupmate T3. Other guests are promised too.

DIIV @ The Dance (two shows)
DIIV’s new album Deceiver takes them into heavier, grungier shoegaze territory. This is their first of three NYC shows this week. They play back-to-back shows tonight at intimate new Manhattan venue The Dance.

Jerry Seinfeld @ Beacon Theatre
When he’s not riding around with comedians in cars getting coffee, Jerry Seinfeld does monthly shows at NYC’s Beacon Theatre.

David Byrne’s American Utopia @ Hudson Theatre
David Byrne has retooled his acclaimed “untethered” 2018 for the Broadway stage and while the setlist and arrangements are much like what they were on his tour, songs are now threaded together with new monologues from Byrne, making for a much more theatrical experience. Matinee and even shows today.

I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor: RAICES Dance Party Benefit @ Knitting Factory
Kip Berman and Peggy Wang from The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Andrew Wyatt of Miike Snow, Oberhofer and Den Mate will be partying like it’s 2008 for “I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor” a DJ dance party at Knitting Factory on October 26. It’ benefits RAICES, a non-profit organization offering free legal advice to immigrant families.

Trashcan Sinatras (performing A Happy Pocket & Weightlifting) @ The Cutting Room
Scottish pop greats Trashcan Sinatras will be performing their albums A Happy Pocket & Weightlifting in full, acoustically, at this special show.

Warehouse of Horrors @ Knockdown Center
Get in the Halloween spirit with this spooky dance party featuring Claude VonStroke, Justin Martin, and more.

Local neo-soul band Oshun’s shows are always great, and tonight should be no different.
