What's going on Saturday?

David Berman by Steve Keene
David Berman by Steve Keene

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

David Berman Tribute @ Union Pool
David Berman of Silver Jews and Purple Mountains would’ve been 53 today and in honor of his life and music, some of his former collaborators and fans — including Craig Finn, Yonatan Gat, Patrick Stickles and Pavement’s Steve West — will be performing his songs and reading his poetry. There are matinee and evening shows, both are sold out.

Kool Keith, Ced-Gee, DJ Moe Love @ Joe’s Pub
It’s an Ultramagnetic MCs reunion, minus TR Love, with Kool Keith, Ced-Gee and DJ Moe Love performing classic songs and sharing stories and history about the making of their iconoclastic catalogue.

Four Tet, Anthony Naples (DJ sets) @ Nowadays
Four Tet reteams with his onetime Text Records labelmate (and tourmate) to spin records all night at this Ridgewood spot.

Juliana Huxtable (DJ), No Bra, Sadaf, Joselo @ The Sultan Room
Great performance artist and muscian No Bra, who is kind of like all of The Fall condensed down into one topless woman, celebrates her new album Love & Power. Juliana Huxtable, Sadaf and Joselo have DJ sets.

NY Night Train Dance Party, Beauty and the Beat, Edan @ TV EYE
Here’s a good, free oportunity to check out just-opened Ridgewood venue TV with one of co-owner Jonathan Toubin’s signature rock-n-soul dance parties.

The Felice Brothers, Laura Stevenson @ Brooklyn Bowl
The Felice Brothers wrap up their twangy holiday tour with Laura Stevenson tonight.

You can also find quality entertainment on almost any night of the week at: Barbès bar and performance space in Park Slope, LunÀtico in Bed Stuy, Nublu in the East Village, Blue Note jazz club in the West Village, The Stone in multiple locations, Comedy Cellar in the West Village, and Q.E.D. comedy club in Astoria.

For all of tonight’s shows, and tomorrow’s, check out our NYC concert calendar.
