What's Going on Sunday?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Nobunny, Chorizo, Cheap Sneakers @ Diviera Drive
Want to spend their Easter Sunday watching a dude who wears a decaying bunny mask — and often not much else — play Ramones-y bubblegum garage? Nobunny is here for you.

Sorority Noise, Remo Drive, Jelani Sei, Animal Flag @ House of Independents
Modern-day emo faves Sorority Noise are going on hiatus after this tour ends, so these are your very last chances to catch them for what may be a while. They play Asbury Park tonight, followed by two Brooklyn shows. SN fans will most likely dig the likeminded Remo Drive and Animal Flag too, and while the groovy Jelani Sei are stylistically different, their set is very much worth catching as well.

Dan Weiss, Mick Barr, Brandon Seabrook @ Nublu
Jazz drummer Dan Weiss, who has played with Rudresh Mahanthappa, Chris Potter, John Zorn and others, has a new album, Starebaby, and cites metal bands like Meshuggah, Burning Witch, High on Fire, Gorguts, early Metallica, Wormed, and Confessor as sonic influences on the album, while thematically/psychically the record is heavily inspired by the third season of David Lynch’s Twin Peaks. He celebrates its release tonight.

Al Jardine @ City Winery
Al Jardine is an original Beach Boy (and sand lead on such songs as “Help Me, Rhonda” and “Then I Kissed Her”), and he was in Brian Wilson’s band for the Pet Sounds 50th anniversary tour during which he proved that he’s still got it. The chance to see him solo should be a real treat.
