You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight's shows, but here are some highlights...

David Byrne @ CMAC
For David Byrne’s current tour, he’s backed by 12 musicians, all of whom are “untethered” — aka there are no guitar or mic cables, no drum riser, no amplifiers or anything else besides the musicians and their instruments. It’s Byrne’s most ambitious stage show since Stop Making Sense and possibly his most acclaimed as well. It may be for his new album American Utopia, but he’s been including tons of Talking Heads material into the sets, including such classics as “This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody),” “I Zimbra,” “Burning Down the House” and more.

Wreckless Eric, Jonathan Toubin (DJ), NY Night Train Our Wicked Lady
It's Jonathan Toubin's weekly "Soul Scream" atop Our Wicked Lady's rooftop, and today's a good one with UK great Wreckless Eric (he of classic "Whole Wide World").

Seu Jorge @ Blue Note (2 shows)
Brazilian singer and Life Aquatic troubadour Seu Jorge continues his 10-night Blue Note residency.

Cephalotripsy, Dysentery, Artificial Brain, Holy Cost, Saponification, Hate Diplomacy, Crack House, Psychotic Defilement, Toke, Bananaslama @ Saint Vitus (NY Deathfest)
The two-day NY Deathfest at Saint Vitus wraps up today with another packed lineup of relentless death metal brutality.

Wino, Xasthur, Moxie @ The Kingsland
Doom metal legend Wino and black metal legends Xasthur are both in acoustic mode for this tour, which hits Brooklyn tonight.

Rise Against, AFI, Anti-Flag @ Stone Pony Summer Stage
Tonight, Stone Pony Summer Stage hosts three popular, long-running punk bands who all came up on hardcore, eventually learned to write pop songs, and influenced a ton of today's best bands.

Citizens Arrest, The Rachets, Headlines, Nervous Triggers, Hatrabbits @ The Bowery Electric
Hardcore vets Citizens Arrest's shows are few and far between these days, so any chance to catch them is worth taking. They had to cancel a NYC show back in June, so they're playing tonight instead.

Opening Bell, Stern, Nastie Band, Vat Of Acid @ The Glove
This is the release show for Opening Bell's new EP, and experimental rockers Stern provide strong support.

Deakin (of Animal Collective), Highlife @ Union Pool
While we await Animal Collective's new album, band member Deakin is doing a solo tour.
